#1...Colorado Springs ~ Remembered ~

He didn’t expect to fall to his knees that day…

He had traveled to Colorado Springs many times over the years,
drawn there by the people who had quietly become part of his heart.

Michaela… Sully…
and most of all, little Brian Cooper ~
whose wide-eyed innocence had a way of reaching places in him no one else ever could.

As he reached the base of Pikes Peak, the memories came all at once~
not gently, but with a force that stopped him where he stood.

The laughter… the kindness… the feeling of belonging.

It was more than memory.
It was love.

And it brought the old patriot to his knees.

With the worn flag beside him and his heart full ~ of pride, of gratitude, of something too deep for words ~
he bowed his head, overcome, and offered the only prayer he could find ~

Dear Lord, please bless Colorado Springs…
and hold my friends dear until we meet again.
