#4... The Shepherds Walk ~

$65.00

Each autumn, after the harvest was safely gathered, the shepherd would make the long walk into Colorado Springs with his little sheep at his side. The trip wasn't made to buy or sell, but simply to enjoy the company of neighbors before winter settled over the valley.

He lingered wherever conversation was shared. A few moments on a porch, a friendly visit with Loren outside the mercantile, or a story exchanged along the boardwalk. His little sheep, wearing its worn rusty bell, was just as welcome as the shepherd himself, especially when they saw Brian who always hurried over to offer a gentle pat and a kind word.

No one thought much about the tradition while it was happening. It was simply one of those familiar sights that marked the changing of the seasons, as dependable as the turning leaves and the first chill in the morning air.
